Cedarbrae Mall is a shopping mall in the Scarborough area of Toronto, Ontario, at the corner of Markham Road and Lawrence Avenue.[2] The mall opened in the early 1960s.

Notable tenants

When Cedarbrae Mall opened in 1962, it was built as an outdoor strip mall, and one of the earlier types built in the Toronto area. It had stores such as Simpson's department store, a bowling alley, and Miracle Food Mart, Miracle Food Mart was converted into Dominion, Then Dominion was converted into Loblaws. Several stores later closed, including Loblaws, Simpson's, and the bowling alley. Zellers opened were Simpson's use to be. Zellers went on Liquadation and closed in June 2012. Current tenants include a Walmart (formerly Zellers), No Frills, Frugo, Stitches, Sirens, Bentley, McDonald's, KFC, Taco Bell, Tim Hortons, Toys "R" Us, Dollarama, Gamestop, and Canadian Tire.

In 1972, it was expanded and enclosed.

Ownership

In August 1996, the mall was acquired by the Centrefund Realty Corporation.[1] At the time of purchase, Centrefund announced it would begin expansion and renovation with a total redevelopment budget of approximately CDN$20 million.[1] The Canadian portion of Centrefund changed its name to First Capital Corporation in 2001.[3]

The shopping centre is managed by FCR Management Services LP, the Property Management division of First Capital Realty Corporation. The manager is J.R. Holmes RPA.

Transportation

Cedarbrae Mall is accessible from Highway 401, using the Markham Road exit. It is also accessible from Lawrence Avenue East. Two Toronto Transit Commission buses serve the shopping centre: the 54 Lawrence East bus, which operates from Eglinton and Lawrence East stations, and the 102 Markham Road bus, which operates from Warden Station.
