Cecil A. Dolecheck (born May 30, 1951) is the Iowa State Representative from the 24th District. A Republican, He has served in the Iowa House of Representatives since 1997. Dolecheck was born, raised, and resides in Mount Ayr, Iowa. He attended Iowa State University.

As of January 2013, Dolecheck serves on several committees in the Iowa House - the Appropriations, Education, Local Government, and Natural Resources committees. He also serves as the chair of the Education Appropriations Subcommittee. His political experience includes serving as Assistant Majority Leader of the Iowa House and as a Ringgold County Voting Delegate with Farm Bureau.

Biography

Cecil Dolecheck was first elected to the House in 1996. Cecil was born on May 30, 1951, in Mount Ayr. His father, Ivan, and mother, Leola, farmed in Ringold County near Mount Ayr.

He graduated from the Mt. Ayr Community School District in 1969. He attended Iowa State University for two years and returned to the farm.

He married Patti on December 8, 2005, in Mt. Ayr. His first wife, Becky, passed away in 2001. Cecil and Patti have five grown children, Eric, Mt. Ayr, Josie, Des Moines, Darin, Mt. Ayr, Jamie, Kansas City and Justin, Mount Ayr. They are the proud grandparents of 12 grandchildren. Cecil and Patti attend the First Christian Church in Mount Ayr.

Cecil is active in the Farm Bureau and Lions Club. He is past President of both the County Farm Bureau and County Pork Producers. He is a former director and past president of the Farmers Cooperative Company of Afton, Arispe, Creston, Osceola, Mount Ayr, and Macksburg, Iowa. Cecil has also served as a 4-H leader and a member of the Sheriff’s Posse.

His main hobbies are golf and antique cars. Cecil’s joys are his 12 grandchildren and his 1931 Ford Model A Victoria.
