Causal-final case

The causal-final is a grammatical case in Hungarian (and Chuvash) expressing the meaning 'for the purpose of, for the reason that',^[1] and denoting price asked of or paid for goods.^[2] It is formed by adding the ending suffix -ért to the end of the noun, e.g. kenyér "bread" >kenyérért "for bread", e.g. elküldtem a boltba kenyérért "I sent him to the store for bread".^[3] It is not affected by vowel harmony in Hungarian.^[4]
