Castro Alves, Bahia is a town and municipality in the state of Bahia in the North-East region of Brazil.[1][2][3][4] It was formerly known as Vila de Nossa Senhora da Conceição de Curralinho, but it was rechristened Castro Alves in order to honor the homonymous poet who was born in there.
