Castelnuovo, Avezzano

The frazione Castelnuovo is a small town established in the Middle Ages in the Avezzano comune, 5.42 kilometre from Avezzano itself, within the province of L'Aquila, Abruzzo region, in the Apennine Mountains within the centre (geometry) of Italy. Its population in 2001 was 182 (number).[1]
The town suffered severe property damage on 6 April 2009 as a result of the 2009 Italian earthquake.[2]
