Casper Ware II (born January 17, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for Virtus Bologna of the Italian League.
Collegiate career
Prior to the start of his senior year, Ware received national recognition as one of 50 players on the Wooden Award preseason watch list.[1] During his senior year he scored 28 points against the Pittsburgh Panthers. During the 2012 Big West Men's Basketball Tournament championship game he scored 33 Points against the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos to lead his team to the 2012 NCAA Tournament.
As a senior at Long Beach State, he averaged 17.2 points, 2.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.7 steals per game. He was named Big West Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year after leading the 49ers to a Big West regular season title and National Invitation Tournament appearance. In addition, he was named to the First Team All-Big West and an AP Honorable Mention All-American.[2]
Professional career
Ware was not selected in the 2012 NBA Draft. He subsequently signed his first professional contract with A.S. Junior Casale of Italy's Legadue.[3] Ware was named the Legadue MVP of that season after averaging 20.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game.[4] In August 2013, he signed with Virtus Bologna.[5]
Personal life
His parents are Casper Ware Sr. and Autheia Ware. Casper Ware Sr's son graduated with a Communications degree.
