The Carter/Wicks family are a fictional family in the BBC soap opera Eastenders originally introduced by Julia Smith.
They joined the series in 1985 when Simon Wicks was introduced. They were reintroduced in 2006 by producer Kate Harwood. They were an extension of Brian Wicks's family a character who appeared briefly in 1988 and was the second husband of Pat Butcher. Simon Wicks was introduced then 2 years later his mum Pat Butcher arrived she had married Brian. Simon and Cindy Beale gave birth to Steven Beale. David Wicks later appeared. He is the father of Bianca Jackson. Then his wife Lorraine Wicks came with their son Joe Wicks. She and David had had a child years back called Karen Wicks. 10 years later the family were reintroduced with Deano Wicks appearing in January alongside with his sister Carly Wicks and adoptive father Kevin Wicks who came in February. Carly's husband Nico Pappas later came. They were later joined by mother Shirley Carter. Kevin went to marry Denise Fox. 4 years later Zsa Zsa Carter, Shirley's niece, made her first appearance. 3 years later Tina Carter, Shirley's sister, mother of Zsa Zsa was introduced. Alongside with Linda Carter, the wife of their brother. In December, saw the appearance of Mick Carter Shirley and Tina's brother husband of Linda. He appeared with their son Johnny Carter. A month later, Nancy Carter was introduced. At the end of January Stan Carter made his appearance he is the father of Shirley, Tina and Mick and married their mother Sylvie Carter. Babe Smith was introduced she is the aunt of Shirley, Tina and Mick.
