Carpenter's chimaera, giant chimaera, or giant purple chimaera (Chimaera lignaria Didier, 2002[1]) is a species of fish in the Chimaeridae family found in Australia and New Zealand. Its natural habitat is open seas. It is threatened by habitat loss.
