Carovigno is a town and comune in the province of Brindisi, Puglia, southern Italy. Its area, part of Upper Salento, is renowned for the production of high quality olive oil.

Physical and Political Geography

Carovigno is situated on a the Northern Part of Salento

It is 161 metres (528 feet) above the sea level, 7 kilometres (4 miles) away from the Adriatic and 30 km (19 mi) from Brindisi.

Nearest towns are Ostuni (5 km (3 mi)), San Vito dei Normanni (6 km (4 mi)) and San Michele Salentino (10 km (6 mi))

  • The Dentice di Frasso Castle which dominates the old town. It was built in the 14th-15th century.
