Carolyn Colvin

Carolyn W. Colvin has been the Acting Commissioner of Social Security in the United States since February 14, 2013, succeeding Michael J. Astrue. Previously, she was the Deputy Commissioner, nominated by President Barack Obama and confirmed by the United States Senate on December 22, 2010. She had previously worked at the Social Security Administration during the 1990s.[1][2] Colvin is a graduate of Morgan State University with one son and six grandchildren.

- Chief Executive Officer of AMERIGROUP Community Care of the District of Columbia (2007–2008)
- Special Assistant to the Secretary of Maryland Department of Transportation (2009-2011)
