Carolina Coastal Railway (reporting mark CLNA) is a shortline railroad.
CLNA operates 17 miles (27 km) of line from Pinetown to Belhaven, North Carolina. CLNA interchanges with Norfolk Southern at Pinetown.
CLNA was created in 1989 as part of the "Thoroughbred Shortline Program" and was a subsidiary of Rail Link, Inc., which became a subsidiary of Genesee and Wyoming in 1995. The line was acquired by Main Line Rail Management, Inc. in 2003.
On March 25, 2007, Carolina Coastal Railway entered into a lease agreement with Norfolk Southern for the Plymouth-Raleigh route (part of the original Norfolk Southern's mainline), 150+ miles long.
