Carnival Glory is a Conquest-class cruise ship that was built by Fincantieri in Monfalcone, Italy. She is owned by Carnival Corporation & plc and operated by Carnival Cruise Lines.
Characteristics
Some features of the Glory include nightclubs, duty-free shops, four pools, seven whirlpools, and a 214-foot water slide. Sixty percent of her staterooms have ocean views and sixty percent of those feature private balconies.[4][5]
The Carnival Glory was last drydocked in November 2012. During that time, the RedFrog Rum Bar, Blue Iguana Tequila Bar, Alchemy Bar, EA Sports Bar, Guy Fieri’s Burger Joint, Blue Iguana Cantina, Punchliners Comedy Club & Brunch presented by George Lopez, Hasbro, The Game Show, Playlist Productions, DJ IRIE were added.[6][7][8]
Currently, Glory's home ports is Miami. In November 2009, Glory was redeployed to Miami, replacing the Carnival Triumph. The Carnival Glory was redeployed to Miami to make room for one of Carnival's newest ships, the Carnival Dream in Port Canaveral.[9] Later in June 2010, Glory began doing summer cruises out of New York City, replacing the Triumph for Canadian-bound cruises. The Carnival Glory also has cruises out of Norfolk in both October & May.[10]
In 2014, Glory is planned for being based year round out of Miami. As a result, Carnival will not seasonally have the ship sailing in Norfolk, Boston, New York, and other areas of Canada and New England. A possible reason would be due to Carnival Liberty repositioning to Port Canaveral at that time and Carnival Splendor offering more destination choices from New York.
