Carlos Ocariz

Carlos Eduardo Ocariz Guerra (Maracay, Aragua, 1 May 1971), is a Venezuelan politician and engineer. Former deputy and current Mayor of Sucre Municipality in east-Caracas. His victory in Sucre was considered a surprise, because Sucre was one of the poorest districts in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas. Is part of the opposition to President Hugo Chávez being a member of Primero Justicia (or Justice First). On 22 February 2012, Ocariz announced that he planned to run for the office of Governor of Miranda state in Venezuela after the current governor, Henrique Capriles Radonski won the right to be the opposition candidate against President Hugo Chávez in the 2012 presidential elections.
