Carles Cases

Carles Cases (born 1958, Sallent) is a Spanish musician born in Catalonia.
He was trained in piano and cello at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu, in harmony and piano-jazz at the Hastad Modern Music Academy, and in orchestration and composition at the Instituto Superior de Arte de la Habana.
He was a member of Lluís Rovira's Big Band in the 1970s. In 1982, he created the Carles Cases Quartet, and performed in several musical events all over Spain, while he was a member of a string quartet as a cello player, performing classical works.
He began his career as a soundtrack and audio-visual composer in 1989 and has produced several artists' works, including Lluís Llach, Martirio, Maria del Mar Bonet and Georges Moustaki.
