Carl Nesjar

Carl Nesjar (ne Carlsen; born 6 July 1920) is a Norwegian painter, sculptor and graphical artist. He was born in Larvik.

Among his best known works are his cooperations with Picasso, such as the mural at Regjeringskvartalet in Oslo, and his fountain sculptures.[1][2]

Nesjar cooperated with architect Erling Viksjø on a particular concrete sculpting method called Betograve.The introduction of this technique to Picasso led to a lasting cooperation between the two, starting with the realization of a version of the sculpture Tête de femme in gravel and concrete in 1958.[2][3]
