Carisolo (German: Karezol or Karesel) is a comune (municipality) in Trentino in the northern Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 30 km northwest of Trento. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 936 and an area of 24.7 km².[1]
Carisolo borders the following municipalities: Vermiglio, Ossana, Pinzolo, Giustino, and Caderzone. Carisolo is famous for its knife sharpening industry or Moleta as they are locally called.The birthplace of Cristoforo Nella, Bernadino Nella and Antonio Beltrami all of whom emigrated to London and using their expertise and knowledge formed The Knife Sharpening Company UK.
