Caress is an unincorporated community in Braxton County, West Virginia, United States. Its post office [2] is closed.
Toponymy
Caress appears to be the only place in the United States with this name.[citation needed] It was named by its first postmaster, Harrison Mollohan, for no particular reason after the Post Office Department rejected the name "Hall".[citation needed]
