Canterbury RFC is an English rugby union football club based in Canterbury, Kent. The club currently plays in the fourth tier of English club rugby, participating in National League 2 South. The club runs seven senior sides, a ladies team and a full range of junior teams.[1]
History
Canterbury RFC was formed in 1929 and when the league system was introduced in 1987 the club was placed in London 3 South East but a series of relegations saw the club playing in Kent 2 by the start of the 1990s. However, the club managed to turn things around and was back at the top of the London leagues a decade later and by the middle of the 2000s the club was in National 3 South, now National League 2 South. The club was relegated to the new National 3 South, by now known as National League 3 London & SE but they immediately bounced back into National League 2 South, winning the Kent County Cup in the same season.[2]
