Camp Olympia is an overnight summer camp located in Trinity, Texas, USA, for children and teens ages 7–16 years who enjoy participating in sports, outdoor activities, and water activities. Campers can attend a two week term (Terms 1 and 4) or a three week term (Terms 2 and 3), or multiple terms.

Activities

Campers choose their schedules by submitting a list of their favorites before they arrive at camp. Campers can choose from aerobics, archery, arts and crafts, baseball/softball, basketball, biking, canoeing, Challenge course, charm, cheerleading, dance, diving, drama, DVD production, fishing, football, frisbee, golf, gymnastics, horseback, intermediate adventure, kayaking, lacrosse, outdoor skills, photography, ping pong, riflery, sailing, Scuba, snorkeling, soccer, swimming lessons, tennis, track and field, volleyball, wakeboarding, water ski, and weightlifting.

Olympia offers the Junior Golf Academy to campers at the golf course, Whispering Pines. It was named the No. 1 course in Texas by The Dallas Morning News in 2006-2009.

In addition to a camper's activity schedule, they will also have the opportunity for swimming at the Olympic sized Pool, blobbing, rocketing, and other activities on the waterfront.

Facilities

Construction finished in May of 2007 on an official sized little league baseball field that comes complete with a monster left field wall, a right field fence that backs up to the waterfront (like AT&T Park), as well as Major League Baseball style sunk-in dugouts.

Spartan and Athenian

Based on the ancient Greek battles between Sparta and Athens, this is a daily sports competition that pits the red Spartans against the blue Athenians in mainstream sports as well as more uncommon games such as O-Ball, bombardment, 3-Ball, and baskerball.

History

All-American football players Chris Gilbert and Corby Robertson, Jr. of the University of Texas founded the camp in 1968.
