Camilla Marie Beeput (born 9 September 1984), also known simply as Camilla or Camilla Marie, is an English singer, and stage and television actress born in Westminster and raised in Brent, both in North London. Beeput was formerly a beautician[1][2] and received her first media recognition for participating in the first season of the BBC reality television series Fame Academy in 2002, before ultimately being eliminated.[3][4][5] From 2014 onwards Beeput will star in the revived series Birds Of A Feather on ITV.

Career

Theatre

After Fame Academy, Beeput went on to star as Maria in a production of the musical West Side Story at Leicester Haymarket Theatre,[6] and Money to Burn at London's The Venue.

After appearing as Bethany Mortimer in the ITV1 series Footballers' Wives, she landed the role of Rose in the London West End production of Daddy Cool,[7] a musical based on the music of Boney M., at the Shaftesbury Theatre and European tour.[8][9][10] Following Daddy Cool, Beeput appeared as Crystal Gordon in Bad Girls: The Musical from August through November 2007.

Singer

After her early work in theater, Beeput wrote and recorded "Don't Hold Back", which features rapper Erick Sermon of the group EPMD and was released on 28 August 2006. In 2009, a track called "Oh What You Did", with US rapper Juelz Santana from the New York rap group Dipset, was recorded but never officially released.

Television

Beeput appeared as Bethany Mortimer, the girlfriend of closeted gay footballer Noah Alexander, in the ITV1 series Footballers' Wives.[11][12] She appeared as Aimee in the Channel 4 comedy series Plus One in 2008 and later that year appeared in Doctors on BBC One. Beeput played the role of Lee Ann in BBC Three's comedy series Lunch Monkeys in 2009m and in 2010, she played Zahra in Peep Show series 7.[13] In 2011, she played Natalie in Top Boy, a four-part TV drama on Channel 4.
