Caleb Joshua Shomo (born on December 1, 1992) is an American musician and record producer. He is the current lead vocalist of Beartooth, the former lead vocalist of Attack Attack!, and the owner of Studio Records in Columbus, Ohio. Shomo joined Attack Attack! as keyboardist at 15 years old while maintaining a passion for electronic music and eventually grew into record production by 18.

Music career

DJ Club (20072009)

Shomo had a solo project called DJ Club, and released a song in 2009 called "All That I'm About" recorded with Max Green and Craig Mabbitt on vocals (Escape the Fate members). The DJ Club project lived on with Attack Attack!'s debut album Someday Came Suddenly, wherein the track "Interlude" was initially written under the DJ Club name a year before.

Attack Attack! (20082012)

Shomo was incorporated into the American metalcore band Attack Attack! at the beginning of 2008 at 15 years old, playing keyboard and synths in the songs "People's Elbow", "Dr. Shavargo Pt. 2", "Party Foul" and "What Happens If I Can't Check My MySpace When We Get There?" in their first EP If Guns Are Outlawed, Can We Use Swords?, and co-produced the EP. Someday Came Suddenly, Attack Attack!'s first full-length album was released on November 11, 2008 and is considered a pioneer album in the metalcore/electronic music trend.

In the same year, Austin Carlile was kicked from the band, and Nick Barham (ex-vocalist in For All We Know) replaced him. Barham later decided to leave the band in October 2009, and Attack Attack! had Shomo move onto being the new frontman.

Attack Attack!'s self-titled second album has Johnny Franck on clean vocals with Shomo performing the unclean vocals. Later on, Franck decided to depart from the group, and the band released a deluxe edition of their self-titled album, which contains 4 new songs with Shomo as the primary vocalist, performing clean and unclean vocals.

In December 2011, the band announced the release of their new album titled This Means War, which was released on January 17, 2012. It was completely produced by Shomo and features Shomo performing both unclean and clean vocals while handling the programming tracks.

Caleb Shomo recently started an EDM side-project entitled CLASS. He has been uploading CLASS songs to YouTube.

Beartooth and CLASS (2012present)

In late 2011 early 2012, Caleb started a joke band with members of My Ticket Home. This band was known as Beartooth. Caleb then recruited three new members, Nick Reed - Bass, Taylor Lumley - Guitar, and Brandon Mullins - Drums for a new band. This band was originally called "Noise" but they later found out the name was already taken and thus changed the name to Beartooth. In late 2012/early 2013 fans of Caleb coined themselves "Shomosexuals". On December 18, 2012, Beartooth released their first single called "I Have a Problem". The band released this first single right after Caleb announced his departure from Attack Attack!. Beartooth announced via Twitter that their first single would be downloadable on iTunes in January 2013. On December 23, 2012, Beartooth released their second single called "Set Me On Fire". Caleb announced that Beartooth's first show would be on January 31, 2013 in his and the band's hometown of Columbus Ohio. The band also announced later dates that they will be playing throughout the spring of 2013. Beartooth released their third single "Pick Your Poison" on January 23, 2013.

Later in 2012, he announced an EP for his EDM project called CLASS, with the first single released being "Take Me Away". Soon after the song "Use Your Vowels" was released. The full EP was put up for sale on iTunes on January 2. Later Caleb posted the other two songs from the EP on the official CLASS YouTube channel.

On February 6, 2013 Beartooth released a live music video for the single "I Have A Problem". In a recent interview Caleb stated that the Beartooth EP may or may not be titled "Fear The Tooth". In early 2013 Beartooth embarked on a tour where they played in many fan's homes. The shows were mostly in the North-East US. Caleb also said in an interview he would love nothing more than to go on a tour playing with Attack Attack! his former band.

In April 2013 it was announced that Beartooth would be playing one date of the 2013 Vans Warped Tour.

Caleb and Attack Attack! later announced that Caleb would be coming back to play with Attack Attack! for their final four shows as a farewell to fans. Beartooth announced that they would be playing the 2013 Skate and Surf festival at Six Flags in NJ.

Caleb announced that Beartooth and CLASS were now signed to Red Bull Records on June 7, 2013

On July 19, 2013, Beartooth announced that their EP is finished, and will be called "Sick". A limited number of hand stamped copies were sold at their shows.

On July 26, 2013 Beartooth released their debut EP "Sick" on their website for free. In an interview with Shomo on the 29th of July he said that the "Sick" EP was to be the first part of an album called "Disgusting" which is rumored to be released in early 2014. Shomo went on to say that the EP was originally to be called "Sick and Disgusting" but was then changed making the EP called "Sick" and the full-length album called "Disgusting".[1]

On December 18th, Beartooth announced they would be playing the entire 2014 Vans Warped Tour. On January 6th Kamron Bradbury of City Lights joined Beartooth as an official member.

On January 24th 2014, Beartooth played a free hometown show in Columbus Ohio, the entire set was recorded by Red Bull Records and will be released soon.
