Caixa (Cape Verdean Creole: Kaxa, São Vicente Creole: Kaixa) is a mountain located in the northern portion of the island of São Vicente. The mountain is of volcanic origin.

Geography

The mountain are made up of rocks with soil colours being orange-like, tan, butterscotch and red and it contains traces of vegetation since the climate is dry. The mountain contains several valleys where farmlands and grasslands are located. The island's largest valley lies to the west. The nearest mountains include Flamengos to the southwest, Monte Verde to the northeast and several others to the north and east. Unpaved and ungraveled roads accesses the mountain and are not frequently used.

Panorama

The mountain offers a panoramic view of almost the entire island except for the northern and the extreme western parts as well as the Atlantic Ocean, Canal de São Vicente, the island of Santo Antão to the north and the southwestern portion can rarely see Santa Luzia..
