Cairns is the terminus of the North Coast railway line, Queensland. It is serviced by several Queensland Rail passenger trains, including the Tilt Train.
The station is home to The Sunlander and the Kuranda Scenic Railway, as well as numerous other scenic rail services such as the Savannahlander.
It is integrated with the Cairns Central Shopping Centre, with the platforms being built underneath parking areas.
