Cafe Crown

Cafe Crown is a musical with music by Albert Hague, lyrics by Marty Brill and a book by Hy Kraft. The musical is based on Kraft's 1942 play of the same name. The musical opened in previews on Broadway at the Martin Beck Theatre on March 21, 1964. After 30 preview performances, the musical officially opened on April 17, 1964 where it was met with less than stellar reviews. It closed after three performances on April 18, 1964. The show starred several notable entertainers, including sopranos Monte Amundsen and Brenda Lewis, dancer Tommy Rall, and actors Sam Levene, Theodore Bikel, Alan Alda, and Betty Aberlin.[1]
