Cabot Elementary School is one of 15 public elementary schools in Newton, Massachusetts. It is located at 229 Cabot Street in Newtonville. Mary Lou DiBella is the principal. The school was built in 1928 and is known for its statue of Humpty Dumpty gracing its outer staircase. The school's newspaper, the Jabberwocky, takes its name from Lewis Carroll's poem of the same name from "Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There". Students from Cabot Elementary school proceed to one of the city's middle schools: Frank Ashley Day Middle School or Bigelow Middle School depending on which side of Harvard Street the student resides.
