CTN-986 is a quercetin derivative found in cottonseeds and cottonseed oil. It has antidepressant properties and has been shown to stimulate neurogenesis in the hippocampus.^[1] The neurogenesis appears to be mediated by activation of the 5-HT_1A receptor.^[1] Co-administration with the 5-HT_1A antagonist WAY-100,635 abolished the effect.^[1]
