CFPW-FM is a radio station that broadcasts an adult contemporary format at 95.7 FM in Powell River, British Columbia.
History
Originally owned by Sunshine Coast Broadcasting, the station began broadcasting at 1280 AM in 1967 with the call sign CHQB.
The station was later acquired by Vista Broadcast Group in 2005. Vista received approval from the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission on May 18, 2007 to convert the station to FM, but was denied use of the proposed 94.1 FM frequency.[1] On November 1, 2007, the station was given approval to use the current frequency 95.7 FM.[2]
The station relaunched on FM on August 27, 2008.
