The CF05 (Chinese: 長風衝鋒槍; pinyin: Cháng Fēng chōng fēng qiāng) submachine gun developed by Chongqing Changfeng in early 1990s in response to China's demand for a new submachine gun design.[1] It was developed by the same team who designed the QSZ-92 pistol, which is now the main pistol used by PLA and PAP.[1] CF05 design is chambered for 9x19 DAP-92 ammunition, used internationally for most pistols and sub machine guns used by armed forces and law enforcement.
Development
Development of the CF05 started from 1993 to 1994 with the design finalized in 2004.[2] In March 2004, the prototype went through a review before the design was finalized in May to August of 2005.[2] The CF05 submachine gun is a blowback-operated system. Magazine is a 50-round helical made from translucent polymer, located at the top of the weapon. Early prototypes had secondary feed option, with pistol magazine inserted into the pistol grip. CF05 submachine gun is fitted with open sights, and has a mounting point rail for optics situated to the rear of the sight block. Threads in the barrel allow the weapon to attach silencer. Shoulder stock is retractable, and is made from polymer material.[1]
The CF05 can be outfitted with a laser sight.[3]
