Buzz McCoy
Buzz McCoy (born Marston Daley) is one of the founding members of industrial disco band My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult.
History
Marston Daley (aka Buzz McCoy) attended Berklee College Of Music in the fall of 1979. While there, he met life long friend, guitarist Bruce Manning (aka Trash Kavity). The following year the pair formed the Boston based “art-punk” band ZERO ZERO, along with drummer Terry Donahue (Alloy Orchestra) and bassist Doug Sylver.
He and friend Carmen Marusich created the group GODBOX in 1985, which had a darker, yet more danceable approach than his previous project.
In the spring of ’87, he was invited to play keyboards for a MINISTRY / REVCO tour. Rehearsals took place in Chicago, and Daley quickly fell in love with the vibrant city. He subsequently moved to Chicago that fall, and began conjuring up the industrial disco group MY LIFE WITH THE THRILL KILL KULT with neighbor Franke Nardiello (aka Groovie Mann.
Mars (as he’s most commonly referred to) along with old buddy Bruce Manning, opened a bar in the Mission District of San Francisco called SACRIFICE BAR & GRILL in 1998. Daley took on the role as chef at the bar for 3 years, before relocating to Los Angeles where he now resides. He continues to write and produce THRILL KILL KULT albums, contribute to film scores, and release his solo endeavors.
