Buton Regency (Kabupaten Buton) is a regency of Indonesia's Southeast Sulawesi Province. The capital is at Pasar Wajo, but the administrative centre is at Bau-Bau on the southwest of the island, although that city is administratively separate from the Regency.

The Buton Regency was divided at 2010 into 21 districts (kecamatan), tabulated below with their 2010 Census population.[1]

However, in 2012 it was announced that the regency was to be split, with the southern districts forming a new Buton Selatan Regency, and the central districts forming a new Buton Tengah Regency.
