Business School Lausanne (BSL) is a business school located in the greater area of Lausanne, Switzerland, and is part of the Lemania Group of Swiss Private Schools. BSL was founded in 1987 by John Hobbs, a university professor who envisioned a more practical approach to business education.
BSL became the first business school in Europe to have its programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) in 1996. The ACBSP accreditation ensures that the BSL degrees are globally recognized and valued. Academic offers include a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program, a Master in International Business program, a Master in International Finance program, a full-time MBA, Executive MBA, Diploma in Sustainable Business, a Doctorate of Business Administration program, and several executive education programs.
BSL ranks among the top European business schools and 3rd in Switzerland in the QS Global 200 Business Schools Report 2012/13. The rating provides a detailed overview of the world’s most recognized and valued business schools by employers, based on input provided to QS by over 2,000 employers who actively recruit MBA graduates.
The BSL Faculty consists of 55 members from 28 different nationalities. The Student Body is represented by 250+ students from 60 nationalities.
Program overview
BSL offers undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. In addition, executive education is provided on a modular and thematic basis to the regional business community. All programs have two intakes: September and February of each year.
Undergraduate programs
Bachelor of Business Administration
The BSL Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program provides a foundation in general business and broadens students' general awareness of worldly developments and current international affairs. The program is composed of 40 modules and can be taken within 2 or 3 years.
The program provides students with the option to study an additional year at the Dublin Business School (Ireland) and obtain a Triple BBA Degree by BSL, Dublin Business School, and Liverpool John Moores University. The Triple Degree enables students to pursue a Master’s degree in a public university in any country, including Switzerland, Germany, and Austria.

Graduate programs
Master in International Business
The Master of Arts in International Business (MIB) program provides graduate students with a foundation in international business, including its various functions such as marketing, finance, operations, human resources, and strategy. The program is suitable for students with a bachelor's degree in any subject area who are looking to acquire skills and competencies in business, management and leadership.
The MIB program is completed in 1.5 years (18 months) and includes 20 courses and a Master's thesis. The program is split into 3 terms (9 months) of 15 foundation courses and 3 terms (9 months) of at least 5 elective courses and a Master's thesis. Each course involves 40 hours of classroom time.
The BSL MIB allows students to pursue academic interests of different fields and tailor their study plan according to their career goals. Students can choose to specialize in areas such as Marketing, Luxury Management, Consulting, Project Management etc.

Master in International Finance
The MSc in Finance is an innovative academic program that is designed for students who want a career in investment banking or, more generally in corporate finance, while at the same time preparing them to the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification. A 2 year degree program incorporates 120 ECTS credits and preparation for the level 1 CFA exam. A thesis with an internship possibility is also incorporated into the program.

MBA
The BSL Master of Business Administration (MBA) program is a master's program suited for experienced professionals with min. 3 years of work experience. The BSL MBA was designed in collaboration with CEOs and HR directors of multinational companies in the Geneva Lake region in Switzerland. The 1-year program combines functional business knowledge and key soft skills development. Classes consist of up to 20 participants coming from different background.

MBA in Sustainable Business
The BSL MBA program is also offered with a specialization in sustainability as MBA in Sustainable Business in collaboration with the University of St. Gallen and with the support of the World Business School Council in Sustainable Business. After 6-months in the classic MBA, students join the Diploma Program in Sustainable Business of BSL and the University of St. Gallen.

Executive education
Executive MBA
BSL’s EMBA program targets experienced managers, with an average of 8 years work experience and with an average age of 37, who wish to pursue their studies while remaining active in their professional activities. The program includes 60 ECTS credits and is completed over 1.5 years with classes on Saturdays and in 3-day workshops.

Executive MBA in Sustainable Business
The Executive MBA program is also offered with a specialization in sustainability as Executive MBA in Sustainable Business in collaboration with the University of St. Gallen and with the support of the World Business School Council in Sustainable Business. The first year follows the classic foundation EMBA program, the second year joins the Diploma Program in Sustainable Business of BSL and the University of St. Gallen.

Diploma in Sustainable Business
The 1-year executive program leads to a joint degree of a “Diploma in Advanced Studies in Sustainable Business” in cooperation with the University of St. Gallen and collaboration with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). It represents 30 ECTS credits and falls under the category of Diploma of Advanced Studies.

Executive Management Training Seminars
BSL provides executive education for working professionals through its fully accredited MBA program. Seminars are given over 3 days – either a 3-day workshop or 3 consecutive Saturdays. They include 10 hours of pre-work and 20 hours of interaction.

Business School Lausanne and Dublin Business School (DBS) partner to provide the Triple Degree Bachelor program in Business Administration. The 3-year program gives well-performing students the opportunity to conduct their final year of studies at DBS and specialize in Project Management, Marketing, HR, or Business Management. UN Global Compact
BSL has committed to the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact since 2006 and is an associate member of the Swiss local network.
UN Global Compact (UNGC) was officially launched on the 26th of July, 2000 by Mr. Kofi Annan, then-Secretary-General of the UN Organization. The aim of UN Global Compact, based in New York, is to develop CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and sustainability in the corporate world, through annual Communications on Progress. UNGC has grown to more than 8’000 participants, including over 6,000 businesses in 135 countries.
