Former anchors

The Burlington Mall has seen several anchor stores come and go. Sears, originally Simpsons-Sears, used to occupy the current The Bay location. When the Hudson's Bay Company decided to convert all of their Simpson's stores to Bay stores, the local result would have been two Bay stores in the nearby Mapleview Centre, so Sears moved from Burlington Mall to one of the Bay locations at Mapleview Centre, and The Bay took over the old Sears location Robinson's was bought out by and renamed Zellers in the early 1990s. The old Dominion Grocery Store was converted into the old location of the food court and a BiWay store, and is now the new location of HomeSense. The old Eaton's store was converted into a new, much bigger food court and Old Navy downstairs and a Goodlife Fitness Club upstairs. The Canadian Tire store, which occupies a separate building on the mall property, used to be a Kmart and before that a split Kmart/A&P. It is another mall with a Canadian Tire store that used to be a Kmart until Kmart's withdrawal from Canada in 1998 (Place Vertu in Montreal is the other). Up until the late 1990s there was a small three-screen Famous Players movie theatre which has since become a Sport Chek.

Two years back on one side of the mall there was a Radioshack and on the other side of the mall was The Source. This was a few years after Radioshack ceased operations in Canada.
