Bumper crop

In agriculture, a bumper crop refers to a particularly productive harvest yielded for a particular crop.

Example: "With all the rain we've had over the last few months, we are expecting a bumper crop this year."

A bumper crop can also be a source of problems, such as when there is insufficient storage space for an overly large crop. The word "bumper" has a second definition[1] meaning "something unusually large," which is where this term comes from.[2]
