Bulgarian Air Charter is a charter airline based in Sofia, Bulgaria. It operates charter services for tour operators between the two Bulgarian Black Sea airports Burgas Airport, Varna Airport and in winter season to Plovdiv Airport and Sofia Airport to European countries. Its main base is Sofia Airport.[1]

History

The airline was established in 2000 and started operations on 14 December 2000. The company is wholly owned by the Aviation Service Group. Bulgarian Air Charter started operations with five Tupolev TU-154 and operates flights to leading tour operators like: REWE Touristik, DUF Travel, Israir, Solvex, Travel booking, VVV Tour, A tour and more to destinations in Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Israel, Poland.
In 2004 the airline retired Tupolev Tu-154 aircraft and replaces them with seven McDonnell Douglas MD-80.
In 2011 Bulgarian Air Charter fleet increased to 12 McDonnell Douglas MD-80. Since the period the airline was founded and up to date we've had over 25,000 flights and have transported more than 3.5 million passengers. At present the company has 260 employees.[2]

Destinations

For summer season Bulgarian Air Charter operates 32 destinations in 14 countries to Bourgas Airport and Varna Airport. [2] The airline also operates "ON – DEMAND" flights to other destinations throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
