Bukit Tambun is a town located at the south of the mainland of Penang. It is linked to Bukit Mertajam, Simpang Ampat, Sungai Bakap and so on. It is also linked to Penang Island, Alor Star and Ipoh via North South Expressway. One of the most convenient place to stay in the Southern Seberang Perai District. Bukit Tambun is connected to the North-South Highway, and Bukit Minyak Express-way to others cities at the Central Seberang Perai District, like Bukit Minyak, Bukit Tengah, and Juru.

Here is famous for its seafood restaurants, offering a variety of seafood delicacies at attractive prices [citation needed].

The second Penang Bridge is also built near Bukit Tambun and will be opening soon.
