Buckswood School is an independent school for boys and girls that was founded in 1933.
Originally the school was situated in Uckfield known as Buckswood Grange School but in 2000 re-located to the village of Guestling between the towns of Ashford and Hastings in East Sussex.
Overview
Buckswood School currently boards 250 students from nearly fifty different countries, plus 200 local day pupils. Countries represented in the boarding community include: Nigeria, Swaziland, Georgia, Angola, Germany, Belgium, Azerbaijan, USA, Italy, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Malawi, Thailand, Iran, Kazakhstan, Spain, Russia, France, Ukraine and Uzbekistan and Mexico. Fees are roughly 11,000 pounds sterling per annum for day pupils and 25,000 pounds sterling per annum for boarders. Bursaries and scholarships are available to provide between a 10% and 30% discount for UK pupils.
Facilities offered on campus include an indoor swimming pool, a specialist football academy, riding stables, a dance academy, a basketball court, tennis courts and a performing arts centre.
Academically Buckswood offers GCSE and A Level programmes plus full EFL tuition for all overseas students. Buckswood School also offers the IB diploma.
The latest Ofsted report in October 2011 assessed the school good or outstanding in all categories.[1]
