Bruce Dow
Bruce Dow (born April 1, 1963 in Seattle, WA) is a professional actor and singer working on stage and in film/TV in Canada and the United States.
His many past roles include a Toronto run as Pseudolus in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum for Mirvish Productions and Stratford. Bruce made his Broadway debut in Jane Eyre, and has appeared on Broadway in The Music Man, and Anything Goes. He has been a regular performer at the Stratford Festival of Canada, North America's largest classical repertory theatre, in Stratford, Ontario, Canada. He has directed many plays and musicals; has composed and written lyrics for a number of musicals; and has taught at colleges and universities across Canada and the U.S.. In 2005, he recorded his debut CD "Lucky to Be Me". In 2008, he released a second CD "Keepin' Out Of Mischief".
In 2008, Bruce took the role of the Emcee in Cabaret at the Avon Theatre and most recently in 2011 the role of King Herod in Jesus Christ Superstar, both of which opened in the Avon Theatre in Stratford, Ontario. In the winter of 2011, Jesus Christ Superstar was transferred to the La Jolla Playhouse, and then to Broadway for March 2012. Bruce received many rave reviews for his comedic, yet serious, performance. The show closed July 1, 2012, with Bruce still as Herod.
