The British Poultry Council is the UK's only trade group for poultry meat.
Function
It represents the British poultry meat industry and keeps up to date with developments in the industry, and food safety. Food safety regulation includes campylobacter and battery chickens.
It does not represent egg farmers.
Structure
It is situated just off Southwark Street (A3200) near the Blue Fin Building, and just south of the Tate Modern.
It is divided into different industry sectors:
- Chicken
- Turkey
- Goose
- Breeders and hatchers
- Primary breeders
- Hen packers
Members include Bernard Matthews and the Faccenda Group.
