Nuno Miguel Pereira Sousa, aka Briguel (born 8 March 1979), is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays for C.S. Marítimo in the Portuguese first division, as a right defender.

Football career

Born in Funchal, Madeira, Briguel – his nickname derives from former rock-hard German international defender Hans-Peter Briegel, who also played in his position – spent his entire career in the green and red colours of hometown C.S. Marítimo, making his first-team and top division debuts in the 2000–01 season, against Boavista FC.

Briguel also played five times for the Portuguese U21s, though never an undisputed starter at Marítimo (years after being promoted to the first team, he continued appearing in the odd match for the reserve squad).
