The Brick Tavern House is located on National Road just west of St. Clairsville, Ohio. The building was constructed from 1828-1831 from red brick with white wooden trim. The 2 story building was once a busy roadside inn and tavern but fell into disrepair. The Hays Landscape Architecture Studio convinced the Ohio University to purchase the property to begin renovation and restore the structure to its original appearance. The structure was added to the National Register on 1995-11-22
