Briceland is an unincorporated community in Humboldt County, California.[1] It is located 6 miles (10 km) west of Redway,[2] at an elevation of 594 feet (181 m).[1]
A post office operated at Briceland from 1889 to 1968.[2] The name honors John C. Briceland, who purchased the site in 1889.[2]
Briceland is also the home of Briceland Vineyards Winery. Founded in 1985 by Joe Collins and Maggie Carey, the winery is credited with establishing wine production from Southern Humboldt grapes. Briceland Vineyards Winery has earned numerous awards in wine competitions such as the CA State Fair and the Orange County Fair, including Best in State for its Humboldt Brut Sparkling Wine.
