Brian Akey (born December 17, 1967) is a musician and writer. He is the singer/songwriter and sole member of File of the Storm, an experimental recording project. He currently performs with Winterpills and Spanish for Hitchhiking. File of the Storm came about in the winter of 2006, after a long period of unemployment. Brian is working on releasing a collection of songs and music due out sometime in 2013. A large collection of solo and collaborative pieces are available on his Gravy Boat Soundcloud site.

He recently contributed music to the Eric Mendelsohn film 3 Backyards (2009).[1]

Brian also continues to write absurdist prose and is currently working on publishing Ocean of Justice, a body of work spanning two and a half years of observations and altered memories set against the rigor of 21st century life. He contributed to his blog, The Infinite Corner, for some time, but appears to have removed it from the internet sometime in September 2010. His new blog, The Sunset Quarrel debuted in the fall of 2011.

He lives in upstate New York with his wife and two cats.
