Brewer is an unincorporated community in Saline Township and northwest of Perryville, Missouri.
Name
Brewer was named after the community’s first settler, John Brewer.[2]
History
Brewer was established in 1886 and named for John Brewer who had settled in Perry County in 1818. The Brewer family, originally hailing from Maryland, had settled in Spencer County, Kentucky, before eventually coming to Missouri.[3] The town was unofficially known as Brewerville before the post office was christened Brewer in 1886.[4]
