Brendan Sheerin (born 23 February 1959)[citation needed] is a British international tour guide with 34 years of experience in the travel business, made famous by the reality TV show Coach Trip which is shown on Channel 4 in Britain and throughout Ireland.[2]

He acts as a conventional travel guide for the contestants, as commentator on their conduct and as coordinator of the vote off. Depending on the length of the series - either 10, 15, 30 or 50 episodes - Sheerin appears in every programme.[3]

Sheerin also appeared in pantomime for the first time in December 2010,[4] and in 2012 will be playing the baron at the Alhambra theatre in Bradford alongside Lynda Bellingham. Brendan is the former entertainments manager of The Spa, Scarborough. In 2011, Brendan released his autobiography titled "My Life: A Coach Trip Adventure".

On 13 September 2012, Sheerin announced in an interview that he had signed a deal to host a new dating show for Channel 4, titled 'Brendan's Love Boat'.[5][6] Brendan's Love Cruise began broadcasting on Channel 4 on 2 December 2013.

Personal life

Sheerin was born into a Roman Catholic family of Irish extraction, in Leeds in the North of England. His personal home is in Malaga, Spain. Brendan is a fluent Spanish speaker, and speaks a good level of French too.

Brendan was in a relationship for twenty five years until his life partner Les died of heart failure on 28 December 2001 at their home in Flixton, North Yorkshire. He has remained single ever since.
