Brahamdagh Khan Bugti is the son of Nawabzada Rehan Khan Bugti. He is the brother of Shaheed Zaamur (the wife of Mir Bakhtyaar Dombki) and Zabad (the wife of Nawabzada Mehran Baluch ). He's the grandson of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti. The Jamhoori Watan Party split and Brahamdagh Khan Bugti became the leader of his own faction, which he later renamed as Baloch Republican Party.. Majority of the Bugti people claim that Brahamdagh. He had been a claimant to the title until May 13, 2009 . Nawab Akbar Bugti wanted his grandson Brahamdagh to be the Nawab (successor) because when Rehan Khan Bugti (son of Nawab Akbar Bugti) died, Brahamdagh Khan was only 9 and his grandfather Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti became his caretaker and it is said Brahamdagh did whatever his grandfather told him to do. Nawab Bugti is alleged to have told his tribe that he wished to make Brahamdagh the Nawab but after the death of Nawab Akbar Bugti and when Brahamdagh was exiled, however this is disputed and his cousin Mir Aali was the successor to their grandfather, the slain Nawab Akbar Bugti.

Exile

He went to exile after death of his grand father Nawab Akber Khan Bugti in a military operation in "Tratani" an adjacent area of Kohlu, Balochistan. Nawab Akber Khan Bugti was a prominent Baloch leader also known as "Dada-e-Baloch" (Grandfather of Baloch nation).Asma Jahangir,President Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan and human rights activist, in an interview with BBC Urdu service said "DCO Dera Bugti told me "After killing Nawab Akber Khan Bugti and Nawabzada Balaach Marri, pakistani forces want to kill Brahamdagh Bugti at any cost".[citation needed] Brahamdagh accused Pakistani intelligence agencies for attacks on him while he was at Kabul, Afghanistan where he seek refuge in one of the Indian consulate and got military help for terrorism in Balochistan[2]
