Borgo Velino is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Rieti in the Italian region Latium, located about 70 km northeast of Rome and about 15 km east of Rieti. As of 31 December 2010, it had a population of 1004 and an area of 17.3 km².Until 1927 was part of the province of L'Aquila, in Abruzzo. It is located near the site of an old Sabine village, Viario. Rare ruins of this ancient village were found in the eastern, neighbor to a medieval tower, now occupied by a cultivated field. Birthplace of Giulio Pezzola, outlaw of the 17th century.
