Railway developments
Bondamunda railway station (IR Station code:BNDM) is an important railway junction station under Chakradharpur division of South Eastern Railway (India) zone of Indian Railways. It is a station on the Tatanagar–Bilaspur section of Howrah-Nagpur-Mumbai line.
It connects Sini and Chakardharpur on east direction, Ranchi, Hatia on North direction, Jharsuguda on east direction and Barsuan and Bimlagarh on south direction.
Asia's second largest railway yard is located here.

The residents mainly consist of railway employees. people here are highly educated and well behaved. the residents here are multi ethnic and people of all religion live in harmony with each other. This place is surrounded by beautiful small hills. One of the places worth giving a visit is Dumetra. The Kali temple of Dumetra is a famous temple situated on a hill surrounded by forests. The residents are mostly Railway Employees working in various cadres but live here without any demarcation.

Culture
Ganesh Puja, Durga puja, Kali puja and Sarawati puja are the most watchable and enjoyable festivals here. Some festivals like Balaji Kalyanam, was being performed by the Railway Employees who belong to Andhra Pradesh, in this Kalyanam not only Telugu People but people of all religions participate. Communism never touched this place.
