Bonbeach is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 31 km south-east from Melbourne's central business district.[2] Its local government area is the City of Kingston. At the 2011 Census, Bonbeach had a population of 5,773.
Bonbeach Post Office opened on 19 November 1922 (closing in 1923, then reopening in 1926 on the opening of the railway station) and finally closing in 1985.[3]
Bonbeach has a railway station on the Frankston line and a string of shops on the Nepean Highway. A long stretch of white sand beach on Port Phillip extends from Chelsea southwards to the Patterson River.
The town has an Australian Rules football team competing in the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League.
Golfers play at the course of the Patterson River Country Club alongside the river.[4] Bonbeach has a school called Bonbeach Primary School.
The Bonbeach Lifesaving Club has been running for 75 years.[5]
