History

After construction was completed in 1993, the stadium was dedicated on October 5, 1993. The facility's first game, an 8–3 Longwood win over Davis & Elkins College, was played on March 12, 1994. In 1996 and 1997, the stadium hosted the Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament.[1]

The stadium, known as Lancers Stadium from its 1994 opening until 2009, was renamed Charles "Buddy" Bolding Stadium in October 2009.[1][2]

In 2007, stadium lighting and a new drainage system were added to the stadium. In 2008, a new clubhouse for the team was constructed.[1]

Naming

The stadium is named for Charles "Buddy" Bolding, Longwood's head baseball coach since 1978. The field was dedicated to Bolding on October 3, 2009.
