Boland cricket team

The Boland cricket team is based in the Boland region of Western Cape province in South Africa.

Team history

Boland began playing in first-class matches in October 1980. They have usually participated in the lower level of the first-class competitions. Currently they compete in the Provincial Three-Day Challenge. At the end of 2013 they had played 272 matches, with 69 wins, 111 losses, 90 draws and two ties.

To take part in the SuperSport Series, Boland merged with Western Province to form Western Province Boland (now Cape Cobras) from October 2004.

  • Bredasdorp Cricket Club Ground (used once in Sept 1992)
  • Stellenbosch University Ground, Coetzenburg (Oct 1993 - Feb 1999; used earlier by SA Universities in 1978)
  • Paarl Cricket Club Ground (Nov 1994 - Feb 1995)
  • Boland Park, Paarl (main venue Dec 1994 - 2014)
